We are currently recruiting for an experienced Environmental Advisor on behalf of our client, and Oil and Gas operator. This is a contract position based in Aberdeen initially until the end of the year.
The purpose of this position is to provide environmental support and expertise for the safe and timely delivery of a subsea bundle tieback and brownfield modification project.
Develop and implement environmental regulatory engagement strategy with map of compliance requirements
Produce schedule of environmental consent and permit deliverables for progressing each phase of the project
Implement the processes required for HSE&A compliance including safety case requirements.
Identifying appropriate scopes and securing services for major environmental requirements of the project
Ensure that relevant environmental permit and consent applications or variations are prepared, recorded and submitted to the regulator and followed up (as appropriate).
Ensure that the relevant data relating to permits and consents is compiled, recorded, distributed and submitted to relevant bodies.
Collaboration with HSE&E team to assure project requirements and milestones are delivered.
Facilitate the completion of actions identified by regulator inspections/investigations.
Attend project daily calls, weekly/monthly HSE&A meetings, etc
Support & participate in the Incident Investigation process and monitor quality of reports and follow-up actions.
Conduct visits in support of improving environmental performance and maintaining effective workforce engagement.
Contribute to the development of a risk based & costed annual HSE&A Plan for environmental activities. Maintain the Plan and execute its requirements.
Carry out or assist with offshore/onshore environmental audits/inspections, compile reports and ensure that actions are followed up as appropriate.
Provide performance data and attend and contribute to relevant team, departmental and company meetings.
Participate in industry work groups that are required to support the project
Provide support in the development and roll out of environmental campaigns
Health, Safety, Environmental or Risk degree or equivalent
Additional Health, Safety or Environmental qualification (e.g. NEBOSH, IEMA or equivalent.)
Offshore Survival Certificate.
Skills and Experience;
Extensive experience working in the environmental field within the Oil and Gas industry. Excellent working knowledge of the principles of offshore environmental legislation.
Demonstrable experience of the successful delivery and execution of project environmental milestones in drilling and brownfield projects
Excellent communication, organisational and facilitation skills.
Environmental Auditing or inspection experience and/or qualifications
IT literate - good working knowledge of Word, Excel and Powerpoint software.
Strong team player who is also capable of producing quality work on an individual basis
