COST ANALYST
CONTEXT
The Cost Analyst provides essential support and input to the cost and budget processes in an accurate and timely manner. This position provides the analysis and support primarily within the cost performance environment to the asset management to facilitate informed decision-making.

MAIN ACTIVITIES
This position will provide assistance, under the supervision of the Lead Cost Performance, in providing a range of cost-related activities covering the Asset Operations, Transportation & Tariff cost and Cost Leadership.
Cost Performance
Assist the team to embed a culture of continuous cost efficiency improvement across the Asset, by:
Highlighting overall trends of costs and gap analysis
Identifying cost drivers and measures
Supporting where appropriate the cost impacts of commitment proposals with Non routine and Capex
Analysing costs and forecasts, as directed, to provide variance analysis, this includes cost allocations and charge back mechanisms
Assist in the preparation of detailed and summarised cost estimates for Budget Holders, Management etc.
Budgets & Forecasts
Assist in the preparation of the Budgets and Forecasts and take responsibility for the cost reporting of this data for specific areas of the asset, as directed
Liaise with all the central cost control teams to ensure consistent workscopes and budget scenarios
Support the asset budget owners with guidance and reports to enable proactive mgmt. of budgets
SOX & Internal Control
Ensure compliance to all internal control and SOX procedures
General
Progress invoice approval with technical and financial approvers
Ensure correct coding applied to all commitments
Provide guidance and support to the Cost Administration and Contract Compliance roles
Actively participate in the cost leadership culture of the Asset
Actively participate in Asset special projects by the Continuous Improvement and Asset Evolution Team
Other
Actively participate in external and internal Audits, as required and agreed by the asset/company management
As part of the NNS Asset, and its aim to make agile working a regular activity, every asset team member should expect to be nominated to work in small, short duration task forces on various subjects (not necessarily associated with their core discipline) for up to 20% of the time.
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of 4 years/relevant experience preferably in the Oil and Gas industry in a business, commercial or finance environment
Proven track record of managing joint venture partners and external auditors
Familiar with budget preparation, cost control and planning within a large organisation
General understanding of the Oil and Gas Industry
Computer literate with experience of various applications (primarily SAP, Excel and PowerPoint)
Accomplished analytical & decision-making skills
