The ideal candidate should be an experienced welder fabricator.
Successful candidates will be invited onsite to perform a weld test and must be able to demonstrate the ability to interpret an engineering drawing at the interview stage.
Staff and Contract positions available
Reporting into the Fabrication Chargehand, the Welder / Fabricator will be responsible for (not limited to):
Setting up, lay out and tack up of various weldments within tolerances stated in production drawings.
Undertaking MIG, Flux core welding according to production drawing.
Undertaking Ad-hoc seafastening work onboard vessels.
Carrying out cosmetic finishes as required.
To work in accordance with instructions, approved codes of practice and standards.
Safe operation of machinery, hand tools, lifting equipment and ensure job materials and equipment are correctly used.
Raising requisitions for consumable items and any other shortfall materials.
Communicate with other departments within operations.
Required skills / knowledge:
Time Served Welder.
Previous experience in MIG, TIG and Flux Core welding is essential.
Have an ability to deal with fast moving projects.
Must have the ability to work on their own or as part of a team.
Must be safety conscious and apply a good quality approach to their work.
