DECK FOREMAN
Our client, an Oil and Gas Company is seeking an experienced Deck Foreman. This is a 3 on 4 off rotation in the North Sea. Experience in a similar position is highly desirable.
Job objective
The Deck Foreman is responsible for operating, maintaining and inspecting cranes and lifting materials, to assure the safe performance of lifting operations and effective deployment of the deck crew. The Deck Foreman may also be the primary Helicopter Landing Officer (HLO) for the installation.
The Deck Foreman is responsible to the Marine Superintendent for:
Effective supervision and deployment of Deck Crew.
Acting as ‘Competent Person’ for rigging and lifting operations as defined by LECOP manual.
Carrying out rigging and lifting operations as required.
Ensuring all cranes are operated safely and within design limits.
Operating, inspecting and maintaining all permanent and temporary lifting equipment throughout the installation as directed by the line management.
Handling of stores to and from supply vessels and within the vessel as directed by Materials Controller.
Mooring, unmooring of shuttle tanker, along with export hose transfer to and from shuttle tanker.
Assisting operation of cargo and ballast systems as directed by the Line Manager; including setting up and monitoring crude oil washing, tank cleaning and associated cargo equipment.
Carrying out manual checks of tank levels and sampling as required.
Assisting maintaining all cargo handling equipment, pumps, valves etc. in the cargo pump room, tanks and on deck in line with planned maintenance, when required.
Carrying out Helicopter Landing Officer roles and responsibilities.
Serviceability of the helideck and, where applicable, Heli fuel skid facilities always including stock control and ordering of Heli fuel.
Ensuring cleanliness and tidiness of cranes, deck store, HLO office and rigging loft is maintained.
Maintaining upkeep and appearance of the vessel superstructure, decks and laydown areas including fabric maintenance as required.
Keeping Heads of Department and Materials Co-ordinator informed of usage and re-order requirements of deck consumables.
Ensuring timely completion of Planned Maintenance routines.
Ensuring all equipment on deck is suitably secured appropriate to prevailing and expected weather conditions.
Overall line management of scaffolding matters which are carried out by designated installation scaffolder.
Isolating Authority.
Ensuring continuous compliance with the Client’s competency assessment procedure.
Awareness of the PM system (Maximo) with the ability to input/extract data as required.
Performing tasks in a safe and responsible manner, ensuring all personnel under jurisdiction do the same.
