Instrument Preparator

Our client an oil and gas Operator is seeking an Instrument Preparator to join their production operations team for a 2- year contract position based in Barrow-in-Furness location. The shift pattern is 9 day working fortnight, 9 hour days.

Purpose of Role:

The Instrument Preparator acts as the onshore discipline technical expert supporting the E&I Maintenance Team Lead to ensure safe and cost-effective maintenance and responsive breakdown maintenance of plant and equipment.

Key Role Deliverables:

• Working as part of the Onshore maintenance team, this role is key to ensuring the day-to-day operation of maintenance activities. This role has significant input into the development of work scopes within their area and ensures that expenditure is controlled according to budget, liaising with E & I Maintenance Team Leader to ensure that all activities are undertaken in a co-ordinated and effective manner
• Acting as an interface with Aberdeen and offshore on technical issues and coordinating the services of technical specialists, service contractors and vendor personnel to effectively maintain facilities whilst minimising support costs
• Reporting directly to the E & I Maintenance Team Leader, the Preparator is responsible for the preparation of work activities for a team of technicians in line with the terminal planning and control of work processes.
• Required to provide cover for the E&I Maintenance Team Lead when necessary.

Work Experience

• Knowledge of production/maintenance operations gained through experience of working in the oil and gas industry
• You should have team leader skills, underpinned by supervisory experience.
